I was about to apply to Master’s Programme in Marketing but as luck would have it, I missed one thing, a test that takes at least a month to get results from and I noticed it when I had less time than that. I don’t even know how I was able to miss it when checking the requirements couple times in advance but these things happen. So that won’t happen at this moment but there is always a but. Currently I am studying few courses by myself. They are in video format which work way better with me. Courses are as follows:
Content: Macro and micro economics, how to value companies, and the basics of how investment banks and management consulting firms work. Also the importance of personal connections and professional presentation: how to identify and pitch venture capitalists and communicate your ideas clearly and concisely.
Google Adwords + certification
Aiming to get my certification in the next few weeks depending on my study schedule. Google Analytics certification will follow at some point.
What I will be studying:
- Writing and A/B testing ads
- Increasing Quality Score and decreasing cost per click
- Use tools like SEMrush and Optmyzr to automate optimization tasks and run better analyses
- Monitor campaign performance on a regular basis
- Understanding customers from a psychological level
- Setting up conversion tracking
- Tracking sales, revenue and form submissions using Google AdWords
- and more…
Sometimes you need to evolve by studying, sometimes by doing and sometimes by following good examples.
Salesforce administrator + certification
I recently stumpled upon Salesforce while looking into Hubspot. I got interested on it and wanted to study it plus get certification as well.
Hubspot inbound marketing + certification
“The best way to turn strangers into customers and promoters of your business.” Sounds good.
How to sell anything
Sound like a good skill to have.
Become a product manager
“The product manager investigates, selects, and drives the development of products for an organization, performing the activities of product management.” For me this sounded very interesting and that is why I chose it. It had some resemble with project management as well which is a bonus in my book.
Instagram marketing: Growth hacks
This is more of a basic course for Instagram but as a active user (though lately I have been bit lazy on adding new posts, more so on the ‘selected photos’ account), I thought this one would be interesting.
Social Media Marketing for Picking Up Clients
Just to learn more about marketing. It’s a thirst, really.
What about the rest?
Rest are about SEO link building, SEO for wordpress (I mainly use plugins like Yoast SEO and Social Sharing Optimization & SEO on this site but that gets you only so far), copywriting and marketing fundamentals (which is basically just for refreshing what I have learned previously).
One thing is same with all, I researched the makers of these courses so that I would know if the information that I receive is good quality.
Subjects that I will focus on later would be Twitter, Youtube (thinking about starting a channel), LinkedIn, content marketing, email lists and few others. In the end I got a thirst for information. I would love to learn a new language. I haven’t used Swedish for 8 years, so most if not almost all have been forgotten except the basic ones. Perhaps that one could be one of the usefull ones.
